A leisurely breakfast
For our chambres d’hôtes guests, is served every morning on our balcony which has spectacular views over Puivert’s lake, the chateau sitting on the hillside overlooking the village and across to the foothills of the Pyrenees as far as the eye can see. Out of season, or if the weather isn’t being kind, we can serve breakfast in the garden room adjoining the salle de sejour. Our plentiful breakfasts include a choice of fruit juices, a variety of seasonal fruit in a homemade fruit salad, yoghurts, cereals, freshly baked bread and croissants from the local boulangerie that can be enjoyed with preserves, honey, hams and cheeses, and of course, plenty of tea and coffee. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. Bon appétit!
For other meals, there’s a choice of places within easy walking distance
Puivert offers three restaurants, Le Pamir, Le Refuge Gourmand, La Buvette du Lac and a lakeside bar, Lescale, which does snacks. There is also the Brasserie du Quercorb a local Artisan Brewery whose beers may be sampled at their bar and where there is often ‘Friday Night Food!’
‘Low Season’ Table d’hôte Service (October to March)
During September things change in Puivert, the families no longer make up most of the visitors and it returns to being couples, friends and small groups, all still looking to enjoy the good weather but perhaps in a slightly more tranquil atmosphere. At the same time the places to eat also close or reduce their days and opening times dramatically so at this point in the year, we offer our chambres d’hôtes guests the choice of table d’hôtes as well. Typically, a generous meal of two courses (main and dessert) with a bottle of wine and coffee included at a reasonable price per person, can be provided if it is ordered a few days in advance of the day of arrival (for that evenings meal) and generally a day in advance for any evening during the stay. Our aim with the table d’hôtes is to make things as easy and enjoyable as possible, particularly perhaps on the evening of your arrival after a day’s travelling, or on another night of your stay if you’d rather just eat in. And while you are genuinely sharing our evening meal, most general dietary needs can be met if discussed with us in advance.
